In 2001 Star Athletics was founded by Sandy and Alan DeMattia and their business partners Lou and Helen Felix.  Now in their 9th year, Star Athletics has established themselves as one of the top small gyms in the country.  SA has won over 70 national championships at the nations top events: NCA Dallas, UCA, Cheersport, Jamfest, American Championships, WSF, America's Best, All-Star Challenge, Spirit Sports, and Atlantic Championships.

     Star Athletics is also the proud owner of two medals (bronze 2005 and silver 2006) from the Cheerleading Worlds.  SA was the first gym in all of the Northeast to attend the Cheerleading World's having been a participant since the second year of the event.  SA was also the first team in the Northeast to Medal at Worlds.

     Despite having less than 125 cheerleaders in their program, SA has placed over 30 cheerleaders in Division 1 or 1A schools including, University of Louisville, Maryland, NC State, Clemson, SFA, Kennesaw, Hawaii Pacific, Delaware, and Hofstra, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Fairmount State.

     Star Athletics emphasis has always been on working with and developing some of the Northeast's best cheerleaders.  At SA we believe the cheerleaders should be individuals, not numbers.
